Team Overview

Architecture & Engineering (A&E) consists of four specialized teams that collaborate to deliver cloud, infrastructure, and platform services to Texas A&M University.


Architecture & Design

The Architecture & Design team establishes enterprise architecture standards, solution designs, and technology guidance for IT initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Enterprise architecture frameworks and standards
  • Solution architecture reviews and approvals
  • Technology roadmap development
  • Integration patterns and best practices
  • Security architecture consultation

Cloud Engineering

The Cloud Engineering team manages multi-cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP, including automation, security, and governance.

Responsibilities

  • Cloud platform administration (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Cloud security and compliance
  • Kion governance and account provisioning
  • AggieCloud VMware management

The Enterprise Infrastructure team manages on-premises systems, networking, and data center operations.

Platform Engineering

The Platform Engineering team specializes in Microsoft 365, identity management, analytics, and financial operations (FinOps).
