Proofpoint Targeted Attack Protection (TAP)

Audience: Email Security Administrators.

Purpose: Manage the TAP custom blocklist for URL protection.

Overview​

Proofpoint TAP provides advanced threat protection by analyzing URLs and attachments in real-time. The custom blocklist allows administrators to manually block known malicious URLs.

Access TAP Console​

  1. Log into the TAP Console
  2. Navigate to Settings → Custom Blocklist

Managing the Blocklist​

Add URL to Blocklist​

Add URL Steps
  1. Log into TAP
  2. Navigate to Settings → Custom Blocklist
  3. Click Add New URL
  4. Enter:

URLThe URL to block
ClassificationThreat category
ExpirationWhen the block expires
  1. Click Add

Remove URL from Blocklist​

Remove URL Steps
  1. Log into TAP
  2. Navigate to Settings → Custom Blocklist
  3. Find the URL to remove
  4. Click the X in the Remove column
  5. Confirm removal

Modify URL in Blocklist​

Modify URL Steps
  1. Log into TAP
  2. Navigate to Settings → Custom Blocklist
  3. Find the URL to modify
  4. Click the pencil icon to edit
  5. Make changes
  6. Click Save
